Privacy policy.

Last updated 6 October 2026

This policy explains how Rohin Arora, Area Specialist (“we”, “us”) handles personal information collected through this website. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

The only personal information this website asks for is in the appraisal request form:

  • The address of the property
  • The type of property, and when you’re thinking of selling
  • Your name, phone number and email address

With each request we also record the date and time it was sent and the page it was sent from.

If you phone or email us directly, we’ll have whatever details you choose to give us in that call or message.

You can browse this website without telling us who you are. If you’d rather not use the form, you can ask for an appraisal by phone and share only the details you’re comfortable with. Without some way to contact you, though, we can’t respond to an appraisal request.

Why we collect it

We use your details to respond to your appraisal request: to look at recent sales near your property, to call you, and to arrange a time to meet.

We’ll only send you marketing, such as market updates, if you’ve agreed to receive it, in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every message will include a way to unsubscribe.

If you go on to sell or buy with us, we’ll collect the further information that work needs, and tell you about it at the time.

Rohin is a director with Area Specialist. Information you give us while selling or buying with us is also handled under Area Specialist’s privacy policy.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only:

  • With the members of our team who help respond to your enquiry
  • With Area Specialist, the real estate network we’re part of, where that’s needed to provide our services to you
  • With the services that run our office and this website, such as our enquiry management, email and website hosting providers, so they can provide those services to us
  • Where the law requires or allows it

How we store and protect it

Form details travel from your browser to us over an encrypted connection and go straight into the systems we use to manage enquiries. Only the people who need them to respond to you can see them.

We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purpose you gave it to us, or for as long as the law requires, and then securely delete or de-identify it.

Services based overseas

Some of the services behind this website are based overseas. Our videos are hosted by Vimeo, images and video files are delivered through Cloudflare, and visits are measured with Google Analytics, all based in the United States. When you use the site, your browser connects to those services, which receive technical details such as your IP address.

Our enquiry and email services may also store information outside Australia. Where they do, we use providers that protect it to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use this website: which pages they visit, how they found the site, roughly where they are (to the nearest city), and what kind of device and browser they use. It helps us see what’s useful and what isn’t.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to tell one visit from the next. It doesn’t give us your name or contact details. When an appraisal request is sent, it records that one was sent, but nothing you typed into the form. We don’t use it for advertising, and it runs with Google’s advertising features switched off.

To see how Google handles this information, read Google’s page on how it uses information from sites that use its services.

You can stop Google Analytics measuring your visits by blocking cookies in your browser, or with Google’s opt-out browser add-on. The site works the same either way.

Apart from Google Analytics, this website doesn’t use cookies or advertising trackers, and doesn’t store anything in your browser.

Videos are embedded using Vimeo’s “do not track” setting, which stops the player from setting cookies or tracking what you watch.

Like any website, the server that hosts it may briefly log technical details of each visit, such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and working.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time, using the contact details below. We’ll respond within 30 days, and there’s no charge for asking or for making a correction.

In rare cases the law lets us refuse access, for example where it would affect someone else’s privacy. If that happens, we’ll tell you why in writing. If we don’t agree that a correction is needed, we’ll add a note to your record saying you disagree.

Other websites

This website links to other websites, such as realestate.com.au, RateMyAgent, Instagram and Facebook. When you visit them, their own privacy policies apply, not this one.

Complaints

If you think we’ve mishandled your personal information, please tell us first, in writing, using the contact details below. We’ll look into it and give you our response within 30 days.

If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page if the way we handle personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
